Pros & Cons
Pros
Overture pla offers significant cost savings, making it ideal for hobbyists or budget-conscious makers. The prints come out beautifully in normal and even in sport mode. The cardboard spools are an eco-conscious touch.
The price is good and it is dependable. It performs the same as the snapmaker brand filament. For the price this is the best filament that ive found.
The spools are easy to store as well and can last a while before needing to dehydrate them. This just goes in with the paperboard recycling which makes me feel better.
Cons
The quality of the parts is passable but not as good. It just tends to clog… even though it advertises on the roll it shouldn’t. And lastly, it is extremely prone to peel off the bed and cause failures. I use a bambu labs p1 and this is the only filam... Read More
The texture of the prints is terrible and this filament is so brittle after printing that it’s not even worth the time. Unfortunately it appears as if these two spools of white pla from overture have slipped through quality control.
Highlights
Quality
So far it has been excellent to work with and no issues with it unspooling on the printer.
Great durability and not much warping compared to other white filaments i’ve used
The product itself is decent but the material was incorrectly wound and causes tangling and failed prints.
If you want good adhesion print this material with a heated build plate over 50 degrees c and less than 80 degrees.
Price
Overall i have been impressed with this filament for the price.
For the price this is the best filament that ive found.
The price is good and it is dependable.
Little more stringing than i would like (using prusaslicer profile), but for the price i can’t really complain.
Shipping
I didn't realize it was named chocolate until it arrived.
Competitiveness
Even when using the extra draft mode in x1c, the prints still come out better than most older or cheaper 3d printers i've had in the past.
I print a lot and have tried a lot of different filaments out there… overture is the only brand i’ll use from now on.
If you are looking for a good pla that typically sits in the lower-tier price range, overture is a good go-to.
It performs the same as the snapmaker brand filament.
