Pros & Cons
Pros
The filament itself works great and is easy to print. I run it at about 210 and it has a nice matte sheen once it's printed. The printer it's being used on is the anycubic kobra 2 neo with a max print speed of 250mm/s and absolutely no issues. I have ... Read More
Cons
This overture professional pla is in my opinion absolute junk! It's possible that i received a bad batch, which points to inconsistent quality control from the manufacturer. They claim that the filament was dried for 24hrs before sealing. I have a hum... Read More
The filament spooling is poorly executed, causing frequent printing failures. I have several spools that are so brittle and break off before it even reaches the extruder. The slippery texture makes it slip in the extruders a lot.
The filament's inherent flaws are the root cause of the printing issues. There is something about this filament and color that just doesn't agree with my printer. Had to rebuild my print head.
Highlights
Quality
Quite structurally sound and it prints well, i made multiple ice scrapers with it and they are all still holding up great.
Truly gives consistent prints and to date, i have not had any issues with its use.
The quality of overture pla, pla professional, and now pla super, is completely unmatched.
We had several prints fail because of the filament not feeding as it was tangled up and it even took off our feeder accessory o... Read More
Price
Losing a meter or so of filament is well worth it to save a bit of money but it is something to be noted for people new to this brand.
Packaging/appearance
Came packaged in a vacuumed sealed bag so no moisture could get to it.
I also dried the filament twice out of packaging just because.
Colour is a nice matte purple as pictured.
Competitiveness
I get the best results compared to some of the other brands.
The overture pla+ black is the most versatile pla that i own.
I do not know about other printers but this is my go to brand for my enter 3.
Had no idea that pro version of pla would be such a difference.

Ive found overture filament to all around good filament but it all seems to have an issue with the first few loops on every spool ive used

Without fail the first 34 wraps about a meter give or take on every spool of overture pla ive ever used has been brittle

This makes no sense to me whatsoever its not the entire surface wraps on the spool its literally just the first 34 loops on the spool

Its something ive come to accept and its become standard practice for me to unspool 5 rotations of a new spool give it a slight bend with fingers and thumb and run my hand from the spool down the length of the filament until i hit that brittle spot and the filament snaps

In my experience everything left on the spool after that will be fine but if i dont do that i end up with multiple breaks early on when printing

For anyone that knows the dillon precision products this is the filament you need to purchase to duplicate the 34dillon blue34 color for any accessories you may print
