Pros & Cons
Pros
This is the first dual-color silk filament from them that i have used and so far, i am liking it! I'm a big fan of coextruded filaments, where the filament has two or three colors at the same time. This dual color is present for every part of the fila... Read More
There is very little stringing and no noticeable defects or blemishes. One thing to note about this filament is that it can be a little stringy, especially when using certain printing settings.
The purple and gold colors work together to create a regal and sophisticated look that's perfect for a wide range of applications. The finish gets a little rough on spherical layers (see the upper backs of the rabbits) the colors are shiny as expected... Read More
Filament comes on a cardboard spool, vacuum sealed with desiccant. Filament is nicely wound on the spool and unwinds smoothly without tangling.
Cons
Overture is a great filament, but this filament is awful. Tried several print head temps, with/without cooling. Used half a roll of filament and still never could get a usable cookie cutter.
Highlights
Quality
It has great performance and my prints have had excellent durability.
Strong and durable prints, easily adheres to every type of plate.
The spool contains a pair of holes every 90 degrees to attach the end of the filament so it doesn't unwind.
The model came off the build plate when the print was done and did not take alot of effort being it was a flex plate.
Price
This filament is a great value for the money.
Shipping
Easy to use and arrive very fast.
Packaging/appearance
The silk finish gives the prints a beautiful, glossy look that's sure to impress.
The filament came in a very tight shrink wrap with a desiccant pack in the middle of the role.
I printed the control box on my mostly unmodified creality ender 3 max neo.
Packaging was good and sealed, cardboard spool marked with remaining filament gauge is a plus.
Competitiveness
I have a completely stock ender 3 pro and this color combo prints better and more reliably than even other color combinations f... Read More
One thing to note that i did have as an issue with a competitor (same silk, purp with gold) is that this actually does print purp and gold.
