    Tldr buy a sata to usb converter and prep your new ssd before you do the install…—i was nervous undertaking this having messed up my last macbook upgrade several years ago so i was hoping for a clear stepbystep

    Time machine was unsuccessful for me so i had to order a sata to usb adapter separately and research which commands to run to make it bootable
