Pros

Owc gives it to you straight and does not overestimate the dock's capabilities. Each bay is 100% independent. Undocking is cake. The ability to power down each drive individually or by using the master power switch is brilliant.

This ticks a lot of boxes, but also is possibly the most expensive option at just under $100. The ocw unit however is premium. Stop messing around with the cheap docks.

It has to be operated with your respective os. But they're by no means bad enough to keep me from wholeheartedly recommending this dock. Didn't have to deal with the hassle of installing the disk in an external case.

Cons

Owc tech support has a long way to go just to be bad. They made the commitment to replace the hardware after about a week of waiting for escalation of the issue. The unit randomly doesn't power on and won’t power back on for long periods of time.

Price

All in all, a great value for $99.

This one is far more premium in all regards and well worth it.

Most docks are overpriced and don't offer anything as stable as this dock.

And not that expensive when you take into account the quality you are getting for the price.

Shipping

This dock delivers as promised, and is as fast as any sata interface you'll ever find.

And i got next-day delivery, so at least in my area it appears this item's being stocked in a local amazon warehouse.

Came over night we extracted the drive from our seagate external drive and popped it into this dock.

Took product longer than expected to arrive, but was great to receive.

Packaging/appearance

I was a bit concerned when i saw the size of the manufacturer's box, but it was mostly protection.

Competitiveness

This works soooo much better than my old cheaper band that died on me.

This owc is over priced in my opinion but there is nothing out there in amazon land or elsewhere that can compete with the owc.

This dock may seem a little fiddly compared to others, but i'm sure it's for all the right reasons.

I experienced the same color differences with unifi network devices.
