Pros

Fw800 works flawlessly on my macbook pros with fw800. Using a 1tb ssd with it as an alternate boot drive. Tried firewire usb 2/3 interfaces, no problems at all. I like the product, it has usb and firewire cable.

Reviewer removed a hard drive from an old laptop. Made upgrading my laptop drive painless with carbon copy cloner. Being able to see exactly what drive is in there w/o having to plug it in is kind of nice.

This item can be assembled while fully clothed if desired. The rest of the mounting/installation is a breeze. Easy to install and design helps to dissipate heat.

Cons

Apparently it works with firewire and not usb 3. Double- and triple-checked everything, swapped cables with a known good one, etc.

I'm very much impressed with the engineering and solid construction of this enclosure.

Again, that's just the way electricity works and a limitation of the mac, has nothing to do with this product.

On my computers it was as simple as plug and play, with the xbox after a quick format from the xbox it was fully functional.

Packaging/appearance

Look carefully at the screws included in the kit.
