Pros

Enclosure's usb-to-sata bridge (an asmedia asm1053e) is working well. Power switch allows for resets of the drive quickly, which has come in handy when i’ve gotten into a bind. No performance loss or disc read issues when using it.

It is well constructed and very durable. It dissipates heat well. It's well-built, functional, and attractive on my desk.

Has some weight to it, and rubber feet don't slide around.

The power supply is rated for a full 3 amps. Many enclosures and docks come with a 2 amp supply. The usb 3 connector allows me to move it between devices (pc and mac) the psu on this unit is solid.

Cons

Be sure to confirm your drives depth before purchasing this enclosure. If you have a smaller optical drive then the enclosure itself is okay. Enclosure definitely not worth the price of an actual optical drive.

As expected with owc, this thing is solidly built and reliable.

This enclosure is not universal fits only some drives, my pioneer blueray drive does not fit it is 195 mm.

The unit is about 6mm short of the optical drive lining up with the mounting holes to tighten the screws.

Price

This thing was expensive, but it came highly recommended and reviewed.

Great value for money if it lasts a long time.

Packaging/appearance

I turned it off, unplugged it and packed it up for the return.
