Pros

Owc's imac upgrade kit is a no-brainer for anyone with an older mac. If you have an imac with an aging 5600rpm hard drive, this is the kit for you.

Wish i had done sooner but as prices lowered it became a nobrainer. My 2017 imac feels like a new car. As others said, i wish i did this years ago.

Imac is easily 10 times faster booting, loading programs, and anything else that relies on disk read/write. The imac boots faster, everything just seems snappier.

Cons

Vendor seems so friendly, but they knowingly sell a part that blocks the microphone. These parts can't be reused. Not about to open up my imac again. Do not recommend owc hard ssd.

Packaging/appearance

Came via ups w/ocw packaging tape on the brown box it all came in.

It is nice to have some help when you have to lift off the screen off and disconnect the wiring harnesses.

The change in speed compared to the old 5400rpm hd is astounding!
