Pros

I've had the 9-in version of this used daily for over a decade, at it's still good as new, minus a few nicks and some patina. Oxo is a brand favorite around our house and these don't disappoint. Will be ordering more.

Good grips locking mechanism is rubber molded over stainless steel. Rubber handle grips are thicker with thumb contour. Oxo tongs are superior to other brands out there.

The mechanism is simple and bulletproof. The materials, stainless steel, nylon heads, all very easy to clean and stand up to a good scrubbing. They clean in the dishwasher.

I really like these, and they protect non-stick cookware. I like how the plastic tips protect my non stick pans from being scratched. Must buy to use w nonstick pans.

Love the ability to lock them closed; makes storing them easier. Squeeze to lock. The only thing i dont like is the lock, i like to shake the lock open, these you have to pull open the lock.

Cons

The nylon-coated ends have no traction. My house is an electric cooktop, so the temperature is not strong. A big disappointment.

They happen to be a little too big for my daughters needs and the price is more than what you'd pay at walmart,

Much better than the more common blunt nylon on competing products.

I tried several brands only to have the so-called durable nylon or silicon tips crack and/or tear after a year or so.
