I had a pot of this style made by calphalon but it got knocked off the counter empty thank god and dented so that the lid no longer fit tightly

The insert also has little feet molded into the bottom which means that if you put it down somewhere like the sink for things that need to be rinsed in cold water to stop cooking the whole bottom of the insert doesn’t sit flat on the surface which makes for easier drainage as you rinse

This would be my second choice after the heston 8 quart stock pot and pasta insert which combined is about twice or more as expensive as the oxo

Many stock pots come with steamer inserts but i couldn’t find any other attractive pots that came with a pasta insert
