Pros & Cons
Pros
The whistle is loud, just the way i need it to be. The only thing i don't like is the noise it makes while heating. It's loud enough to be heard over the tv a couple of rooms away.
She really enjoys all-clad but i read multiple reviews that the tea kettle is really heavy and less than amazing for the brand. The kettle itself looks great, feels well put together, the switch to open and close top feels sturdy. Very satisfied.
This teapot is a great value for the money. It's wide flat bottom sits well on the stove.
The only slight gripe is that the handle gets hot if you don't position your kettle correctly over the flame, but that's super fixable. Handle stays cool.
Lid is snug and needs a bit of a push to snap shut, heats quickly with large base. I either use a flexible pot holder or mitt if i absolutely need to remove the lid before it cools. Easy to open the spout both when filling the kettle and when pouring ... Read More
Cons
Light weight, took 12 minutes to heat the water to boiling. Plastic on the whistling part was starting to fade. It does not whistle, it wheezes weakly. Dangerous to use with boiling water in it.
Highlights
Quality
My mother was very happy with the weight and the design.
A good quality basic tea kettle worthy of the oxo name.

I'm not particularly thrilled with the style, but given the amount of use this puppy gets on a daily basis, i'll take function ... Read More
Shipping
I spent 30 bucks for mine (shipping incl) and i think that was a bargain.
Packaging/appearance
It's easy to open the spout both when filling the kettle and when pouring from the kettle.
If you have a gas stove, make sure the flames stay under the cooking base of the kettle.
You just fill up to the the bottom of the spout inside.
Competitiveness
I read about five hundred bajillion reviews when looking for a new kettle, and this one was a clear winner.
Works just as perfectly as all of my oxo products.
