Pros

Only the minor inconvenience of snagging the opened lid but totally worth it. Easy to push lock/release button that opens and locks the handles.

These are wonderful. Once again oxo proves itself to be far superior in every way. This one is a winner.

Cons

This is the first oxo product i can honestly say is totally worthless. It usually rips off some of the label as you open the can, leaving shredded bits of paper on your work surface.

After opening about 2 cans, it no longer latches securely. The teeth on the lower gear fail to grip the lid lip with enough strength to allow you to twist the handle without the gear slipping.

The handles were damaged and the blade was chipped and bent from use. Now the blades are too dull and handles too flimsy to pierce a can.

This is hands down the stupidest can opener i've ever bought. It's completely flummoxed by every single can it comes across. It’s much smaller, hard to puncture cans and absolutely will not open large #1 cans.

This can opener is so easy to use, it never slips or loses traction

You shut it, it locks, and easily turn the wheel with no resistance.

Trust me i tried several of those and every time they would either break or not work after a couple of uses.

Competitiveness

With many of the other brands with the locking mechanism you still need to apply a lot of pressure on the handles, but not this one.

We had bought a major brand (ws) with the same lock feature of which the handle broke in half (at the seam).
