First off this is a bit larger than the standard block of butter you would receive at the grocery store

The dish is wellmade with the lid being clear but heavier plastic and the bottom being stainless steel

In use the butter sticks to the bottom of the dish which makes cutting the butter pretty easy even when really cold as the butter doesnt move around
