This bag has deterrence & then some with a) anti-slash sling strap b) anti-slash mesh fabric c) anti-theft zippers (actually there were no instructions with the bag & it took me a few minutes to figure out how to release the zippers .  Read Less

There's no way someone can fiddle with the zippers and you won't notice, if you're wearing it on your back (unlike a traditional backpack).
