Pros

Jars for making kombucha, first fermentation. Keeps my herbs fresh and flavorful. Use them to store cat food in - when you have one cat and you're trying to economize.

The opening is actually an inch wider than a wide mouth canning jar. Easy to clean - with the wide mouth and quite sturdy.

Cons

If it's not a legit ball brand mason jar, it’s not to be trusted. The lids seem flimsy and don’t always screw on smoothly. They shatter easily.

After less than 1 month of use the lid began to rust and leave rust on the glass jar. Maybe that has something to do with the sun tea leaking. I'm trying to be very cautious so as not to break it.
