It’s not like other facial scrubs, where the beads sit on top of the skin. The walnut shells really exfoliate! The face scrub isnt too abrasive and works well. This exfoliant is not overly gritty.

It has a very earthy, cocoa butter smell to it, which i personally love. It helps that it has a nice subtle smell; not too “perfumy”. It's very mild and it doesn't burn around my nostrils.

Even though it's good for my caramel complexion i use cerave after it to make sure i get hydration and moisture back it my skin after a scrub. Works great for sensitive skin like mine and tough manly skin like my husband.

The grit is so fine you can barely feel it, so it definitely didn't soften my skin. The cocoa bean shards are simply annoying and go up your nose, into your eyes. It feels like sloppy coarse sand on your skin with a play dough type scent.
