Pros

This panasonic has 2 seperately assigned hdmi output ports, providing the audio and video signals to be seperate split as an option. Front panel has a usb 2. Back of unit has ausb 3. Great value for money from panasonic.

It's a lightweight player (mass wise) but these things sit on a shelf and do their job. Easy setup is straight forward. The interface is simple.

Panasonic *-ub420 is a great entry level 4k blu-ray dvd player. Auto upscaling function from blu ray to 4k, great setup and features. Reading blu- ray dvds is not snappy, but it's no worse than any other blu-ray player i've used.

Cons

User interface and remote control are terrible. If you pause a movie for more than 10 minutes it turns off and forgets your place. There is no setting for the auto turn off either, and it forgets you have captions turned on. For me too much a headache... Read More

Black screen indicates a possible heat issue fwiw. It's too late to return to amazon, and i am sure warranty repair will cost me even more with shipping charges.
