Pros

Avchd video is well tolerated by most editing software. The audio sounds good but can be improve with an external microphone. The scenery there is spectacular and the sights and sounds are made for a camcorder like this to record for posterity.

The viewfinder is perfect for those occasions and quite necessary. The image stabilizer is incredible. The lens is also very high quality, very sharp, with a great zoom range.

The only buyer beware message is to be sure to test the video clarity of your new unit when you get it.

The low light capacity is also superb. You know where the lights make your child like a halo of white light? The unit will ping pong between auto mode and change the picure hue substantially.

I hope it will not disappoint on my upcoming cruise to alaska. The camera is very light and small which is good. It is a great gateway cam to the pro camcorder market.

Cons

The fan is obnoxiously loud. White balance is temperamental. It's just not versatile enough.

It only has a 10x optical zoom, which is a bit of a disappointment. The auto-focus is defective and can't accurately focus on faces, especially when zoomed in.

My first impression turning it on was that this camera is very well made and with good optics.

The stabilization is also excellent and really makes videos super smooth.

At that quality, i burned through two batteries.

Although i am by no means professional in my videography, i want a high quality playback and this camera has not failed to deliver.

Price

At the current $600 price it is a remarkable bargain.

Packaging/appearance

]this is a really nice package and i will use it often!

Looked and evaluated both of them, chose the sony cx560.

Competitiveness

I wanted a viewfinder and this unit has a good one that is much better than the canon m41 that i tried before buying this camera.

I compared this camera to many others and this is the best one in my opinion under 1k.

I owned a competitor camera before and the proprietory file format rendered it almost useless.

Hated the 35mm wide lens on the tm900, just too narrow compared to the sony's 26mm wide lens.
