Pros & Cons
Pros
The 12mp imager is much sharper than the 8mp in the eos. I always like the warm and vibrant color balance/tone of the lumix processor.
The lumix gf2 has a great camera with great image quality. The 3-inch lcd is big and bright but if you have vision issue, manual focusing can still be a problem (same with any camera without a diopter-corrected viewfinder); but the lumix electronic vi... Read More
The touch-screen is sensitive and menu selections are fairly intuitive. The mechanical button to the right of the screen is well laid out and back up almost all the touch screen functions. Even tho everything switches to manual, there is a lock-out op... Read More
Cons
The camera gobbles up battery charge when not even in use. One thing that really infuriates me about this camera is the horrible battery life.
Highlights
Quality
The image quality is nice, the low-light performance is strong.
Editing it out in premiere was quick and easy, compression wasn't too bad, and quality was better than decent for production.
The physical buttons only have one function(fn) button, and it is tied together with the quick menu button.
I don't like its touch screen control much and i try to do as many tasks as i can with the back menu pad.
Price
The price is very cheap, very quick delivery, the camera's performance is very strong, very suitable for home use.
Packaging/appearance
Oh, i don't want to use a touch screen, i'm used to having 20 buttons on my camera and not have to look at it, now i have to go... Read More
Another way around this is to lock the lens wide open on another camera before mounting it onto the gf2.
Competitiveness
In fact, with a full-size slr lens, it actually feels comfortable with a hefty lens and the light camera body.
I would definitely say that choosing the gf2 over getting another super-zoom camera was a great choice.
I have considered replacing it with a gx1 or gf6, but don't want to if the problem hasn't been fixed.
I knew that it was not a direct replacement, and wanted something more portable than a canon t2i or nikon d5100.
