Since this is a discontinued camera i bought another one. The original battery lasts a long time. They are cheap and plentiful and screw right into the cameras bottom stand mount.

People install the gimp (gnu image manipulation program) freeware program and add the wavelet denoise add-on. This forces the ois to work much harder than normal.

X zoom and 12mp sensor produces pictures that are as sharp as a needle. The focus system is superb and normally gets at least 2/3 of the frame in perfect focus, which leverages the exceptional power of the tack-sharp lens. There is still not a point a... Read More

Cons

The lumix has total ticked me off. It's really depressing. Now the real frustration begins.

The dmc-zs3 is a grainy, noisy, blurry camera. The stupidest design feature is the panasonic specific cord that is necessary to connect the camera to the computer.

This is verbatim what happened to my camera. Also the battery life is pathetic. I may have to look into that after i dump this thing on ebay.

The camera is supposed to shoot hd video as well. But the hd is a disaster. The format is hard to play for the layman user due to the video files not being in mpeg or another easy format for windows media player to read.

When the camera was turned on the lens would extend and retract several times and then finally close. Red eye reduction works sometimes, but still drowns out the backgrounds. If the camera is not completely still when taking a photo at normal setting ... Read More

This god damn camera beats alot of dslrs out there in picture quality.
