Pros

Asph power o. Is a truly wonderful lens. The lens performs terrifically. The thai dancer is in the corner of the frame, and she is still really sharp.

One of the best zoom lenses available for m4:3 cameras, esp for the panasonic gh2 and gh3, and almost certainly for the gh4. It has not been left off of my other gh2. Lens. It is a great zoom for panasonic and olympus m4/3 cameras.

Light, compact, and weather sealed. Easy to send back to japan via ems.

Therefor this lens is so good in all aspects for me. Considering its low weight and overall portability its a very good lens. Like both of the canon's, this lens has weather sealing and is made to a higher standard than their regular lenses.

The size and weight of this is unbelievable.

If you are *really* unwilling to sacrifice *any* image quality, then you'll need to spend significantly more and get a full-frame system.

Price

Some are saying the price is to high, but this is a "luxury" lens like the one from the other guys.

To me, that is the value of the system, and it is worth the price i paid.

Was it used, refurbished, a 3rd party as its price was so low.

I was reluctant because the price was so much lower than here in the states.

Shipping

8, you have every you need (except maybe a fast prime).

It is not fast like the cheaper lenses.

Lens shipping from japan was supposed to take up to six weeks but it arrived from japan in five days via us postal service!

Packaging/appearance

The 45-200mm images have a definite red cast; the 35-100mm colors are true-to-life, probably due to better lens coatings.

Using this lens for video in the g85, you would want to use a tripod if shooting in 100mm.

Competitiveness

I've used it to photograph figure skating competitions in poorly lit arenas and had great results.

This lens also has image stabilizer, which works better than in-body image stabilizer when the focus length is long.

With some postprocessing you cannot tell the difference between the canikon versions.
