The kind of image quality i am getting with it is very respectable. Everything looks nice and crisp. For the price, i can't really complain.

It's better than the 14-42 lens including in most panasonic camera kits, and roughly equal to the vaunted 14-45. The camera has a crop sensor, so the nominal 14- 42mm equates to 28-84mm zoom on a full frame camera. The quality is not as good as 14-54m... Read More

I always edit my pics anyway so this isn't a problem for me. At both whole image and pixel peeping levels, it is much smoother than manually zooming.

Pz 14-42 works great on the panasonic gx7. I have the new zoom mounted on my lumix g5 and it is so much nicer and more compact than the kit zoom that came on my g5.

Cons

The panasonic gx1 comes with two problems. The other problem is that the lens blurs images at particular focal lengths and shutter speed combinations. The lens is made by panasonic.

The x14-42 has a penchant for shooting fuzzy scenics. It is far poorer than the dmc-fz47 that this system is replacing. I believe it was a mistake to miniature this optic by doing everything electonically.

Packaging/appearance

This combo works right out of the box.

The panny gx vario pz 14-42 gives me a similar range equivalent which is where i capture the majority of my images on the 5d2.

On the dji 4 go app camera screen a tap brings up the zoom slider on the screen.

Competitiveness

I have been using it on a gx7 and the results have been fantastic.

I have a canon 60d with lots of really nice lenses (l, zeiss, etc.

(although i finally did give up waiting for amazon to have it in stock and just ordered it from adorama, via amazon).

Will bring lumix gx1, pz 14-42, pz 45-175 and 20 f1.
