Pros
The lens has good sharpness for the money. At 175mm, the lens is noticeably softer (but certainly still useable) it is tack sharp at maximium distance and everywhere in between.
Ssc macro is some very fine pieces of glass. Sharpness and trueness of color are impeccable. I shoot 50% stills/50% video and this is my go to lens.
The power zoom is very smooth when set to low internally. The zoom speed is also adjustable for both picture and movie mode. I found it easier to control zoom smoothness (while keeping the camera steady) if i used the zoom lever on the camera.
The lens is fantastic, whether you are an amateur photographer or a seasoned one who needs additional reach, without quality drop. While it's not the fastest lens by any stretch, i still find it quite usable for my outdoor portrait needs. Bottom line ... Read More
The panasonic 45-200mm is a great telephoto lens for a micro-4/3 camera. It has a very strong is and is very light. It is the best lens for the micro-four thirds format.

Quality
Very happy with the quality of the lens.
The image quality is good and sharp -- the color is awesome.
I actually like the quality off this lens in both video and photo modes.
If video and picture quality is important as well as size and weight this is the definite zoom lens you should get for your m43.
Price
I like the power zoom but if price is an issue consider the identical lens without pz.
Cons: i wish it were constant f/4 but then the price, size, and weight would all be greater.
But the price is also much below the canon!

This is a light weight, very functional lens that has done a good job on various yest shots.
This is the most underated and the best value lens i ever get.

The video is spectaculer with this lens and you need to remember one thing about pictures and video with this lens it is an hd lens so by downloading to your computer if you do not have hd it wont look as good

I bought the camera on closeout and will upgrade somewhere in the future to one with evf but the lenses will be fine for down the road and as for the earlier ratings involving double imaging well that doesnt happen anymore if you have a recent camera with the firmwire upgrade
