The af macro and the macro zoom are incredibly impressive. Downloading images through their app to the iphone is doable but not always easy.

The battery lasts a long time. A little pricy but way better than a cell phone. Amazon sells a fine external recharger with two batteries (oaproda 2 pack dmw-ble9 battery and rapid dual micro usb charger).

Panasonic zs80 is not even close to the nikon d5000 i bought over a decade ago. The image tends to blur, re-focus, and blur again, particularly when shooting video.

Raw format is lossy and too lossy. Even shooting in raw will not enable you to clean it up with any decent quality. Jpeg photos are pre-cropped.

The 30x optical zoom, the viewfinder and the touch screen are also great features.
