The panasonic lumix 50d is a great point and shoot camera. It has a great macro lens made by leica. The screen and viewfinder are also great.

Cons

After a few minutes of trying to transfer the photos, the app quits trying or reads “connection lost”. The focus * and the flash location is in the wrong spot.

Although it pretends to feature stereo microphones like the older models, the sound is poor and captures very little bass. It seems like a company as large as panasonic would have someone in their employ who understands english and how to use a camera... Read More

Super cheep of panasonic not to provide good instructions. These people are horrible and unkind and inconsiderate.

The lumix sync app on bluetooth to iphone is insanely frustrating. The instructions indicate there is a bluetooth setting in the set mode--there isn't!

Focusing is always questionable. The auto focus is extremely slow and inaccurate. This is not very easy when you are zoomed in and the plane is moving.

I have had the camera for only a short time, but everything works great, a lot of features, and very well built.

I have a nikon camera that takes nice photos, but the software is hit and miss and very frustrating to use.

It can bring very distant objects close in with sharp focus even in poor lighting.

Price

Great value for point and shoot camera.

Very good deal for the money, works well and good quality pictures.

But for the price point, and the fact it was easy to slip into a pocket, i love the way my pictures came out.

⁣⁣i'd say most of the beginners who are on a budget are looking for the perfect camera to start off with and not for claustrophobes.

After considering both the panasonic lumix zs80 and very similar nikon coolpix a1000, i decided to order the lumix.

It may not be for everybody, but i think i like it more than any other compact camera.
