Pros

The non stick coating slides easily without melting or burning. We went with it again with no regrets.

Panasonic steam iron has a unique footplate design. Allows forward and backward ironing without creases. Works well on suits and flat ironing of clothes. Costs around £30 from clothclothe.

Cons

No, certainly not. Be forewarned. Did not come with any warranty or specific instructions regarding this particular iron. I am very disappointed in this product since i always considered panasonic to be a quality manufacturer.

The design is futuristic, but not necessarily in a good way. The multi-directional surface really isn't anything special. The sole plate makes for a nice, large sole plate, but at the expense of durability.

If you are ironing a large linen table cloth, it just takes longer because you have decreased soleplate area. This never gets hot enough to really iron linen. The steaming doesn't work as well as other irons.

Our old panasonic iron finally quit after 10+ years, and wife wanted the same one to replace it.

They all leaked and/or stopped working fairly quickly.

Competitiveness

I'll probably buy the same one, or another model from panasonic, again.

I find the panasonic has more accurate temperature setting, is easier to handle, and glides across fabric much better.
