We almost purchased this panasonic edtv because it had a nicer picture in the store and was actually cheaper than the sony

Our salesperson talked us out of the panasonic because it was not hd and said we would only be able to view an analog picture in 3 years when all programming goes to hd

He said we would have to purchase or lease a convertor box at that time to convert the hd signal to an analog signal and we would only be able to view in analog

Where as a hdtv has on a 1080i picture resolution and need special signals for good picture quality
