Pros & Cons
Pros
New lab mechanic makes the game more strategic, more thematic, and less luck-driven. New solo mode is shockingly fun if you want to challenge yourself. The lab challenge is just that - a challenge. The game designers do a good job of making the mechan... Read More
I like the gameplay variant that this expansion provides. We're a true cooperative group, at least the one is, so we're not doing any kind of betrayal type scenarios so far. It adds soooo much thematic value to the game itself.
It is very cooperative and a great way to bond. Great quality time with the spouse. The fun comes in watching the world burn with your friends.
In the lab expansion gives a separate challenge that replaces the way you go about curing a disease. It gives you a kind of a mini game to play for each disease cure and allows everyone to contribute to curing the same disease every turn. It also does... Read More
Cons
The back of the cards are a drastically lighter color than the other expansions and the original. None of the colors match up, making them completely useless. Pawns, research stations, and purple cubes are not consistent in quality to base game of pan... Read More

This is a solid expansion that makes the cure development process more interesting.
The randomness of card draws and the pain of sharing cards between characters.

Shipping
I had it shipped to me so i could wrap it and it was brand new as advertised.
Competitiveness
Team mode is a fun, "competitive" 2v2 or 3v3 where 2 teams race to cure the most.
The other play variants included in this box are good, and i feel equal to or better than some in the other expansions.
In the lab challenge will allow for everyone to cure a deadly disease as opposed to random chance.

Yes this severalthingsinbox expansion does also include a few cards to expand on other expansion sets but these 3 cards are not used for in the lab play and certainly not a reason to avoid buying this one awaiting purchasing the other expansions
