Bowser touches a sticker he's not supposed to and ends up going beserk, taking peach with him. Nintendo has always been cautious and concerned regarding the health of their more photosensitive consumers, ever since the pokémon anime seizure fiasco.
Cons
The only original character is kersti, a crown sticker personified. Paper mario is my favorite n64 game and i love paper mario 2 but this game is a disgrace to the series. I feel that the extra measures to destroy the fun weren't justified, nintendo.
Boss battles are tedious guessing games. Checkpoint starvation is a minor, but present issue in a couple of the areas. The egypt stage is also bad due to you need to find parts to build the temple & inside you have to match the walls with real ite... Read More
Little to no customization outside of stickers. They shove it in your face so much that you start to hope you never see another sheet of paper again. The other flaw that * me off to no end is the fact that healing items are so rare and hard to come by... Read More
There are basically no redeeming facets of this game. Feels like a reboot if anything, which will be a bigger disappointment for fans of the series.
Highlights
Quality
The art work and graphics are excellent, as well as the game play.
The graphics are also great, and the 3d aspects of the game were respectable.
I love mario games and i love all the paper marios and own them all however this one pissed me off.
It's very niche, you need to both like paper mario and have a 2ds or 3ds or new 3ds.
Price
I think the game has great replay value if you love to collect stickers for the museum.
I was thrilled to pick this up at a decent price to re-add to my ds/3ds games collection.

It is quite similar to color splash (though i'd say color splash is a bit better).
I've never played any other paper mario games, so i don't know how the game itself compares to the rest of the series.

There are some aspects to the game that could provide a risk for those with photosensitivity like me and i did have some reactions to parts of the game involving things like falling glitter and bright colors with bold patterns but only experienced minor fugues

Nonetheless i would not recommend this if you have a history of more significant seizures and other reactions to games if you are looking for something a bit safer for you to play personally i highly recommend yoshis wooly world

The risk is there but its minimum i suggest watching trailers and walkthroughs of the game prior to purchasing it so that you will have a better idea if it contains things that have triggered reactions for you in the past

Past some minor things i expect it to be mostly low risk and i would not recommend it to my friends who have more severe reactions but to those who only have the occasional slight fugue this will probably be a great game for you

The game lacks the character of the original paper mario and the thousand year door on gamecube but its still a fun game to play to kill some time
