Pros & Cons
Pros
This wrench is necessary in getting the bottom bracket retainer to come off. The shorter, bbt-22c is less likely to become unseated because it requires a large socket or wrench.
Works fine, all these tools are the same. Easy peasy. Makes the removal and replacement of cassette-style bottom brackets almost painless.
Cons
This product shatters into small pieces when used. The mold was machined, not the tool. The metal feels like some kind of cheap aluminum cast.
This means i had to use an adapter to fit this on my torque wrench, making a normally simple task inordinately difficult!
Highlights
Quality
As described, high quality product, recommended .
Always a quality tool from park tool
Okay, i could live with the new, shorter version.
I think they should sell it with the bolt and it’s reviews would go up.
Price
The tool costs high enough to allow it.
They may cost a little more, but they're worth it.
Packaging/appearance
I ordered the bbt-22c by default, because it had apparently, replaced the bbt-22.
Competitiveness
Good tool at a fair price and it does what it needs too.
For example, snap-on tools used to advertise their products as being indistructable when used by a professional mechanic.
Pedros makes a bolting tool but a bolt and washer cost less than a dollar.
