Cons
This informs me that this tool is reporting tensions higher than the actual tension. Having spokes that are too loose typically leads to spokes breaking near the hub, which is what happened to me repeatedly this summer until i tightened them more.

I found on rims that were laterally true i could have spokes that were too tight next to each other

Once i had tightened all the spokes to the same tension i had to do very little adjustment to have the rim run true

But over time you may notice that even though you have trued your wheel some spokes are lowtensioned and some are hightensioned

Sometimes when truing your rims the tension of the rods are wrongeven though the rims spins correctly after a few hard rides the tension of the rods will move and cause the rims to again go off balance

You can use the brakes if your wheel does not have disc brake os course or even a toothpick attached with adhesive tape to the frame
