I have a 1950’s era wheel grinder that wasn’t working due to a bad switch. I've used a pair of these at our low-voltage, off-grid cabin.

This light switch is old in its design

The noise of the switch does not bother me as i intended its use as an old style but if a person wants something like this for appearance but wants the silence of a new wall switch this is not your switch

You do have to snip out the wire entry if using this for surface mounted wiring
