Pros & Cons
Pros
Stainless steel tongs and thumb rest are great for stability. The handle is the most comfortable one i've tried andcleans up nicely.
It is made of wood and metal just like the picture depicts. It's sturdy, doesn't hurt the hands, and isn't wonky at all.
This is the same pastry blender my grandmother used. The wires prevent overworking. The thumb rest gives you extra control while blending.
Cons
The metal is an excellent shape, but the handle is crafted extremely poorly. It includes a flimsy and dangerous chrome thumb rest sticking off the wood handle. There is a weird thumb-rest that isn't pictured.
My biggest issue is that it keeps breaking. The good thing is amazon refunded me no problem, but it really is trash.
Highlights
Quality
I also like the vintage look with the wooden handle.
The wires have bent a bit but they are fairly easy to bend back into place and the blender works well.
They don't make them with the wires any longer but with steel stiff bands, the pastry sticks to it ,not easy to work with.
I couldn't believe how hard it was to find a pastry blender with the thumb piece.
Competitiveness
Inexpensive and reliable; no need for more expensive models!
