Its probably both some old coax and a poor signal in her area but this fixed it and her internet connectivity is much improved

I had a 4way splitter that wasnt giving a strong enough signal to my set top dvr my tunning adapter and my cablecard hdhomerun which was showing up as pixelation and stuttering and freeing picture

Note that this does have active return so it will amplify the signal going back upstream

This was directly attributable to the powered amplifier feature as the signal reverted to unsatisfactory after i temporarily disconnected the power

I am not saying that the channels are hd crisp like qulaity but they are definitly viewable again
