Leak Proof
Customers generally praise the durability and insulation capabilities of the Pelican Personal Cooler, but some express disappointment with its leak proof feature. While most report that it keeps items cold for extended periods, a few users have experienced leaks when the cooler is moved or knocked over. Pelican's customer service advised that the gasket was not intended to be leak-proof and offered no solution.
Temperature Retention
Customers have mixed opinions on Pelican 8QT Personal Cooler's temperature retention ability. While some are pleased that it keeps their food and drinks cold for hours, others find that it struggles to maintain the desired temperature for an extended period, especially when left in direct sunlight or in hot environments.
Highlights
Quality
Very durable, perfect size for travel or work.
Well built and perfect size for a 8 hr workday.
Sandwich isn’t frozen, drinks cold all day.
Holds temp very well and is relatively leak proof when knocked over.
Price
And it’s 1/2 the price of my second favorite cooler.
Worth every penny for someone that works in the heat for long periods of time.
Better and not ridiculously expensive for that better performance.
Shipping
They shipped me the wrong color, but it’s all good.
Packaging/appearance
Perfect for packing a lunch or a six pack of drinks.
I was tired of the “soft” lunch boxes being damaged by a sharp edge or ice pack, and sweating on the bottom.
Packaging could’ve been a little more insulated to keep from moving around or a smaller box to ship it.
The box is nice overall, but it is definitely a lunch box.
Competitiveness
Finally took a chance on this one because of the brand name and all of the features.
I've had all of the big brands and have settled on pelican.
I’ve used 6 other well known and higher priced small coolers.
