Pros
Pelican recommends the middle foam be cut to mirror the ar-15 or other rifle you are carrying. A white ink sharpie marks the foam well. Pelican is professional and this case is the staple of weapons transportation.
The case has 4 metal infused locking rings on the outside. It fits perfectly and with 4 padlocks, i am well above all the government and airline requirements.
Cons
I feel pelican has completely dropped the ball with their quality of product, and more so their customer service. After all, that is the sole purpose of me purchasing a pelican product.

Solid upgrades from the older model with the foldable handles to tough wheels and secure foam internal
It is really well built, i have used these cases for 39 years.
Only thing i will warn, these cases are not light by any means.
All of these must also be locked.

The premium price is worth the peace of mind knowing that my valuables are protected in the most durable case on the market.
I have had people ask me why i would ever buy a 400$ rifle case.
Packaging/appearance
Hindsight, i am perfectly fine carrying/rolling a heavy case knowing darn well what i'm transporting is well protected.
Competitiveness
The usa airlines all have the same limitation and that is 62 total linear inches.
You can buy cases for less, but you can’t buy a better case.
I considered the pelican vault as a lower cost option, but i have no regrets about buying this one.

The box is great solid construction the pluck foam is almost intolerable it falls apart at every edge when used more than once

Personally i buy pelican cases because i dont want to fall into the category of my prized rifle is completely screwed because of an accident
