Not a single video explains how to tie down a canoe using nothing but a single bucklked tie-down strap and two straps with hooks. Broken in first trip.

I have a couple other friends who also have these foam blocks and they too like them and have the same issues with the straps.
What comes with the kit besides the block do not seem safe at all even in low speeds.
I use the other straps that came with the unit at the center of the canoe.

Straps not quite as thick as i hoped, but worth the price.
Packaging/appearance
Supports my 16 foot canoe on my car with out scratching the paint .

So only buy this with the intention of using the blocks and know that you need to buy a separate pair of tiedown straps for the body of the canoe and bow and stern tie downs

We do not have a rack on our car the blocks are straight on the roof of the car

I also go a pair of ratcheting 14 rope tiedowns to hook to the hood loop straps on the front and to frametrunk at the back of the car to secure it to the roof

So know that this kit is really only for the blocks everything else in the kit should not be used for safety concerns

Buy new better straps as the ones included are crap and will breakloosen up easily
