Pros

Pentair was recommended by our local pool company. Installation is dependent on your pvc configuration. Only downside is the limited manufacturers warranty.

Single speed full rated pool pump keeps debris off of the top of our pool. Outperforms the hayward it replaced. Operated as advertised.

It's a little noisy when starting up but goes into a smooth hum once the water is flowing. It is quiet and the vacuum cleaner works fine with it. Quieter than the original, pump works well.

Cons

The packing to protect the bottom of the pump is about 1 inch thick. The packing is compressed by the pump to less than 1/2 inch. We had no choice but to install this broken unacceptable piece of junk.

Packaging/appearance

Packaging was well done (had the form fitting foam on both ends).

4 stars versus 5 because it is the worst packaging for shipment i have ever seen, almost laughable.

Note: i read several reviews about bad packaging and product damage.

Bought this onethis unit is quieter and more powerful and possibly even a lower price (it;s been a while).

Our installer says it’s for an in-ground pool which was not noted in the description.
