Pros

The difference in water quality is more noticeable than i originally thought. Do have to acid wash (dilute muratic acid) ~ 3 or 4x per yr which is reasonable & i do it myself.

I feel strongly that pentair knows their product is garbage, which is why the warranty is only for a year. I know this because i know the engineer personally that designed it and 15 months is unreasonable. Overall, have been disappointed with pentair.... Read More

The flow switch of these units frequently fail. Pentair will not help you claim a warranty from amazon. Amazon needs a warranty denial letter from the manufacturer. If yours pops the breaker or blows the fuse its probably full of water.

The warranty is voided if you buy it on amazon. A 1 year warranty is insufficient. These cells are expensive and of questionable reliability.

In hindsight, i now realize that the ic40 was corrupting the communication link. Go another route and save yourself the headache and money. Update 3/2022it appears the unit has begun to provide chlorine once again.

Those that have lasted the longest are in comparatively dry climates. The quickest to fail in wetter ones or have a sprinkler that sprays on it.
