The focus ring is direct not focus by wire its just a little too short in its throw

Old manual lenses turn 180 to 270 degrees from focus end to focus end this one is much less making critical focus difficult

If you couple this lens with a wr camera and you live in a damp climate or shoot along the shore or in inclement weather a lot then youll probably find this lens to be indispensable youll have to learn too live with its shortcomings

Unfortunately the seller sunset is parting out lens kits which dont include the hood this is not apparent in the ad

I have a da 50135 but really needed an all in one zoom because of the nature of burning man and changing lenses is too risky and time consuming
