Pros & Cons

Pros

The focus knob is smooth and precise. It's light enough to cart around on top of a moderately heavy tripod. The angled scope is nice as i can easily swivel it and to lower it for my wife to look through.

This is my 3rd spotting scope for birding - and it is outstanding. At 500 yards the image is crystal clear, no chroma, bright and sharp. The quality and sharpness of this scope is just incredible for the price.

The lens is filled with anti-fogging gas and it's very sturdy construction. Material is magnesium with rubber armor coating so should be pretty durable. The optic is sharp with good contrast at 2,400 feet.

The pf-80ed offers excellent optical qualities, easy handling and a very decent price. The scope needed to be good at 40x and inexpensive. Optical quality is excellent and at a very reasonable price (comparatively anyway) outstanding glass.

It is delightfully efficient at keeping the scope both ready to use quickly and protecting the scope from field use. It also comes with a cloth case.

Cons

My conclusion is that it must have been assembled with this defect being quite visible. The photo of this item shows an eye piece included. But it is not.

Quality

Optical quality is excellent and at a very reasonable price (comparatively anyway).

As spotting scope or even as a telescope at night, the quality and sharpness of this scope is just incredible for the price.

Price

So this scope after selling the zoom lens cost me $200 and satisfied my second requirement of being cheap in cost.

Packaging/appearance

And - the bent angle eyepiece end of the cover is ok, but you need the to use the sewn-on snap strap (it comes with) to get it ...  Read More

Competitiveness

The unit drops easily with a manfrotto tripod into my daypack.

I mount it on an induro tripod with a manfrotto head.

My intended use was competition rifle shooting and i needed this scope for viewing targets at 1000 yards.

I recently bought a 13mm orion eyepiece which translates to 30x.
