Big wheel does the main focusing and the little eyepiece wheel lets you make adjustments if one eye is sharper than the other. The image is surprisingly crisp and clear. The clarity is good.

Lenses are high quality--very sharp, clear and full line of vision.

We also shelled out $25 for cheaper binocs which were below-average--we'll be returning them.

I have a no-name brand of 10x25 binoculars, but they are a bit too "jittery" for me to use in dark conditions.
