Each pencil has a specific size lead. The lead system is really easy to use, and the ability to adjust the softness label--ingenious!
These are nicer in person, easy to hold and use. The weight is perfect as is the length and the way that the point retracts is absolutely a joy. They are easy to use, nicely packaged, and feel to be of very good quality.
Cons
The only pencil that i like using out of this set is useless now. Its a bit frustrating though, especially at there price points. All four of them got broken with light usage in a year.

The quality is excellent and they feel good in your hand.
These pencils are well made and a pleasure to use.
They break leads much less frequently than any i have used in the past.
A bent or broken sleeve is no good!
Price
It's a great value for the price, as opposed to buying them individually in your local office supply store.
This set is a great value for cost versus quality.
At first, i hesitated because of the price but there’s a good reason why this set is priced at $50.
They are a little pricey but if you are using them on a daily basis the price is completely reasonable.

Really like this set and packing is nice for a gift.
The box they are packed in is nice but not really practical for daily storage.
I was looking for a good mechanical pencil, it came in a box with extra leads and erasers.
Competitiveness
I've become a big fan of pentel, one of my favorite pens is a pentel - i actually prefer to use it more than my $350 parker.

There have been complaints of not feeding or the pencil is breaking just below the lead indicator

If lead will not feed unscrew tip then unscrew the pencil bottom from top

There may be broken lead in the barrel

When cleaned put back together

To change the lead hardness indicator unscrew the tip so the pencil will now turn freely
