The ink flow is smooth and consistent, the ink is super black, but dries quickly and it's waterproof.
The aluminum body adds a much appreciated heft and thus steadiness (weight is roughly comparable to 2~3 micron pens).
The ink flows consistently without blotting or running dry.
Worst case scenario, i would have a sturdier replacement with the same rich ink – just without the god awful squeeze brush.
Price
For the price, that is a pretty small complaint.

Also, shipping indicated it would be here by the 14th on jan and i got it before christmas!
Shipping took a bit longer than expected but wasn't more than a month.
Competitiveness
He stated that it is as good as other pens he has used that are much more expensive.
As far as i and seemingly anybody else can tell, all the refillable pentel brush pens are the same product in varying casing.

Mostly for blocking as the constant pumping and large barrel can result in dry misplaced lines
