Lead grades range from firm (lighter writing) to soft (darker writing):4h - 3h - 2h - h - f - hb - b - 2b - 3b - 4b. The leads themselves are sturdy and a good sharp color, forming a great crisp line. Fits in my pencil so it is as expected.
