The pieces are a nice size too comparable with mainstream tournament sets i would say and the magnetic bases do a great job of securing the pieces to the board even with the board folded as shown in the product images

Few of us wants to be spending large amounts of money on a chess set for a child but buying a set too cheap and it feels horrible to handle it with cheap greasy plastic poor magnetism and small boards

Unfortunately there was no instruction manual as promised hence just 4 stars
