First made sure i got the hinge opening the correct way for the glass top with the handle.
Did the same, even slower with the other half.
Packaging/appearance
Don't try to slide it from the end, just push it straight onto the glass.
I got some rubber work gloves, sprayed some wd-40 into the top of the hinge and slowly maneuvered the tip of the glass into the hinge.

I used a heat gun set at low to warm the edge of the plastic that im working with but any good heat source should work

Then the dreaded task of attempting to slip the glass top into the jaws clamped tight of the new hinge without breaking the glass or cutting my hands
