Pros & Cons
Pros
Great product for sealing exhaust slip joints. Good idea to put this on both sides of a gasket before tightening. This sealant is great for exhaust joints and thin gaps.
Quick, easy, cheap and so far, a lasting fix. Dispensed easily. Seam is now sealed.
Wear a disposable nitrile glove and spread it around the area with a finger. Great product.
Cons
Dries brittle, flakes off. Unfortunately, it crumbles and falls away after it hardens.
Highlights
Quality
Dries in about 30 min - let it fully cure without getting wet beyond application for 24hrs.
Great product for sealing exhaust slip joints.
This stuff turns hard and brittlethis is not a rubber silicone based sealerbut it worked well to fix the exhaust leaks
There was a small clamp there and the pipe rusted through leaving about 1/4 inch wide gap by almost an inch long.
Price
Good price to fill a hole in my muffler
Competitiveness
Reaching out to permatex they actually recommended a different product that was twice the cost of this with half the temp limit.
The trouble is they make so many similar products it is hard to choose the correct one.
Seems anything i buy from permatex does what it is supposed to do.
