Pros & Cons
Pros
Used it to seal the transaxle/transmission on my utv. Great sealer for engine and transmission applications. Caulk tube makes application much easier than the squeeze tube.
The actual product is fantastic and will not leak if applied carefully. Keep your receipt of purchase3. This is a perfect match and performed as the oem gasket did.
Easy to use and cures fairly fast. Always works well. Highest recommendation. Do not over apply this product, esp.
Cons
The product was dried out and almost impossible to squeeze out of tube. Seems to not be adhering at all like this stuff does normally. Seems like maybe an imitation?
Highlights
Quality
Permatex arrived on time, works perfectly, quality product.
For valve covers, i mainly use this item for the cam end corners and the back plugs (honda) with the o-rings.
I made do with the situation and applied the product from the crimped end, but doing so is awkward.
This means you dont have much down time to move on with the issue on hand.
Price
This stuff is great, just like hondabond but 1/3 of the cost.
Competitiveness
Was a little expensive but worked great for sealing the case on a rzr 900xp transmission during reassembly.
