It also was quickly filled with undesirables like hair etc and with the amount of cats we had it was quickly run dry by the end of the day needed a better solution

It stores enough water that we can fill it one day and know it wont run dry in the middle of the night and cause a horrendous noise

In terms of noise the pump itself is very quiet and only makes a quiet hum whilst in operation which is easily masked by other noises in the house

The water fountain bowl has a builtin ramp that the water falls onto that reduces splashing and noise

Bought this as replacement of the same model because the pump failed after 8yrs of faithful service

I am not very happy as the top of the water tank cannot now not be be undone so i am unable to refill the water tank
